This project, developed as a master's thesis at the Faculty of Natural Sciences and Engineering, University of Ljubljana, explores the monuments of the National Liberation Struggle in Slovenia through artistic photography and book design. Twelve monuments were selected across all twelve statistical regions, chosen for their historical significance, symbolism, and spatial presence.

The monuments were photographed using black and white analog technique, on a Nikon FM camera with a 50mm lens on Ilford HP5 film — with the aim of presenting them not merely as historical markers, but as expressive works of art in their own right. The resulting photodocumentary series was compiled and designed into a printed photo book, hand-bound with an exposed spine and titled obeležje which means both a physical landmark and an act of remembrance.
